Aesthetically Pleasing Misses the Meaning

Writing this post more as a reminder for myself then anyone.

Blogging for a few years now, I’ve been enveloped into the world of having pretty pictures, backgrounds, and stationary per se. It’s a fun bit of being a blogger and has contributed to my creativity to some degree.

It’s also enabled me tho to buy into the culture that my feed must match, my photos can’t be too much the same, and sharing a photo like this won’t get that much attention or viewing.

It’s stifling.

This photo means more to me than any outfit I post, any backdrop that I’ve used, and any likes I’ve received.

You see, these clothes I’ve folded are for the family he’s blessed me with to take care of. This growing belly is a result of God allowing me to carry a child in my womb. Having socks to wear are the product of my hardworking husband who provides for our needs in the home. This smoothie is the gift of nutrients God’s provided for me to eat and thrive on.

There’s nothing wrong with liking things pretty, neat, organized. But at the end of the day, these little things are what bring the most meaning and purpose to my everyday life.

Xoxo, Shantel
