This summer has been one of the busiest I think our family has ever had. We’ve literally gone from one thing to the next since the end of May with short week breaks in between trips and activities.
I’ve loved being busy at it definitely helps pass the time in pregnancy, but the further along I get the more I’m excited for cooler temps and snuggling a newborn.
The kids have really taken to the thought of a baby brother and I’m so happy about it. Hudson asks questions about him and along with Felicity, will come feel my belly for movements. Sissy is obsessed with her baby dolls and their accessories, so she is transitioning well into the stage of play where she loves to take care of them and be their little mamma.
Hudson starts kindergarten this fall and I’m so excited and just a little nervous, haha. I’ve bought all his subjects, finished organizing our classroom area, and now just have some lesson preparation to finish. He has made waves in the developmental process this summer as we’ve been doing little bits of school throughout the summer to help jumpstart this fall. We did end up getting a speech assessment and he will start speech therapy soon to fix a few things that are lingering. Thankfully though it’s not much!
My garden has finally started to produce crop. It’s been exciting watching it grow and be so green this year. I may only get a small harvest, but as I was telling a friend, I feel like each year I get a little bit more as well as are able to understand what each plants needs are.
I’ll be 30 weeks this weekend, and I’m starting to really get into nesting mode. The newborn laundry is washed and folded into baby boys drawers, and I’ve been cleaning all the essentials and toys. I absolutely love that I get to put all of Hudson’s clothes to use again on a sweet boy. As I was going through them each article of. Looking bright back floods of memories with my not so little boy now. He bas turned into such a big boy and will be a big helper when brother gets here!
Well that’s about the gist of it. I’ve loved taking a break from social media the last month or so. I’ve had more room to breathe and enjoy other things with family, friends, and projects for myself.
I hope this update finds you well. Feel free to share any life updates on your end, I love hearing other’s stories and fun.
Blessings,
Xoxo, Shantel
