Can you hear it? Do you feel it in the air. The holidays are so close it gives me goosebumps.
I love Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you’ve been around here long enough you probably know that haha. But one thing I started last year before the holidays was to just be more intentional. To slow down. Enjoy the exciting and the quietness. To be able to remember the look of surprise on my child’s face. Feel the joy and innocence in simple unplanned moments. To fully grasp the chaos but also the silent night.
This song by Amy Grant, “I Need A Silent Night” is one of the first I play amongst the holidays. It checks my heart and reminds me why not planning is just as important as planning.
We love our Christmas advent calendar. But it gets so full and so busy that sometimes there’s no room for remembering the why. The birth of my Savior.
Last year was the first year in a few that I actually felt less stressed, less planned, and more, living in the moment. I want that again this year. I’m looking forward to that again this year…
So in all the excitement, festivities, business, remember to intentionally have a few silent nights. Remembering and sharing in the greatest joy and gift ever given us on earth with those you hold dear.
The why, the answer, the meaning, the sacrifice. ✝️
With love,
Fellow mamma,
Shantel
