Dear God, thank you for this bright April. This month brings wistful showers of rain, thunder that shows how magnificent you are, and causes flowers to pop. Thank you for the beauty in the rain. The beauty, that can be seen through the dirt and grime of our everyday lives. Lord, thank you for the reason we get to celebrate this month. That Jesus died and was buried but yet rose again. It’s so humbling that you sent your only son as a sacrifice for every single one of our sins. Help us to live in this remembrance every day, not just in this holiday.
God, I pray for our nation and the politics that are filling up our minds and hearts. There has been some terrible heartache and painful events, for loved ones especially. Give us words that are comforting and actions that are fulfilling as the body of Christ. Help us to see needs and out of our love for you, give of our all to your work. I ask for understanding and peace in these times. That I would not live in fear but of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
As spring blooms this April, help us to see the essence of you in it. Help us to be thankful for even just those birds chirping and the rustle of the trees. When we forget remind us, Lord. Remind us that each day is a new start. Amen
