A December Prayer, Christmas Hope

A December Prayer, Christmas Hope

Jesus, November is over and the end of this crazy year is in sight. This month has been hard. Whether in favor of elections results or not it’s been a divided national event. There’s a sense of lost morals and my worry has peaked beyond what seemed repairable. But you have repaired Lord. You gave me peace when needed, hope when feeling defeated, and me the willpower to see positivity. Thank you for the little things that you’ve done to show your still on the throne and in control and for the Holy Spirit and the comfort and guidance we have through him.

Thank you for this winter season that’s almost upon us. As Christmas approaches, I pray that this holiday would be one of joy and hope. Especially, for those who have lost loved ones or are isolated. Please provide ways of encouragement and hints of the holiday spirit in ways we’ve never thought of before. Help us to give like we never have before. Not of our money per se but more of our time, or energy, and the same joy that you give us!! Help our world to see the ultimate love you showed by sending Jesus as a wee babe to earth as a servant and a sacrifice for our sins. Help us to remember that he gave up everything for us. Lord thank you for that night so long ago that reminds us of the true gift of Christmas. Also, for eternal salvation, we have through you, God!

Whatever our individual ways of celebrating Christmas help it all to glorify you and bring honor to your name. I pray for a safe and warm holiday for our nation and for our hearts to be breeding grounds for YOUR love and joy.

In Jesus name,

Amen
