3 Healthy Habits I Started This Month!

I

I’d love to hear! Do you have any healthy habits you love and would like to share?!👇

I enjoyed a month of healing, enjoying whatever foods I wanted, and just relishing the newbie stage. But after I cleared my 6 week postpartum checkup I began to notice some unhealthy things. So, I decided it was time to get back on track and start some healthy habits.

1. Exercising 7 days a week. I just finished a 28 day streak and wow has it been amazing. Not only have I been able to continue to lose the baby weight, but also resume my love for walking that developed toward the end of my pregnancy. I plan to stick with 6-7 days for now and see where it leads too!

2. Drinking tea a few times a week. I have never been a tea drinker. Abut the only tea I drank and loved as a teen was McDonald’s sweet iced tea back when it was $1.07. After I quit that habit in college, I would drink it occasionally but there was no attachment to it. After I had Felicity I started to try tea as another way to drink fluids as well as help with seasonal allergies. And turns out I discovered a few teas I love. It’s replaced a cup or 2 of coffee now and I’m loving it!

3. Cutting out 90% of sugar. After my GDM passed after birth I decided to have a few of those treats I had missed so much during pregnancy. While it was enjoyable and delicious at the time, I realized it also put my body into a little bit of a shock resulting in a UTI and a sluggish feeling. Because I hadn’t eaten any sugar for 9 weeks, my body was in kind of a detox mode. After adding it back in I realized how much better my body functioned without it. And because I had learned so many new ways to enjoy sweets without sugar during pregnancy I decided to cut most of it out again and see how it went. And just as I had thought, my body responded enthusiastically to this change and I can feel the difference.
