With Valentine’s Day upon us, one can’t help but think about love and what it means to each and every one of us. And so I wanted to share with you all some thoughts about love and the sole giver of love who was the foundation of one little word that means so much.
Love is something one has to intentionally do. It’s active, not passive, cannot be just words that are said but shown. One can never truly understand the depth of it unless you intentionally show it. It gives peace to the worrisome, and takes the pain; replaces it with joy. Love is not a stranger, it’s a friend. It’s not invisible, but alive and bold. Love takes the burden and shares the load. And in being part of the body of Christ, this is all part of who Jesus is and the fullness of his love towards us. His love is indescribable, it goes to lengths our human minds can’t even begin to grasp. And to think that he loves each and every one of us for who we are is unfathomable and very precious. What love! Whether your dating, married, or single, use Valentines Day as an extra day to show love to those around you, a little heartfelt love goes a long way even in our big world today.
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.”
John 13:34 ESV
