Goodbye Kindergarten!

Summer is on the horizon and our first year of homeschool in the Racine home has commenced. Hudson finished up the last of his kindergarten schoolwork this last week and we are officially on summer break.

Both of us learned a lot this first year as a teacher and student. And truthfully, I didn’t realize until now how much I love teaching. The planning, the preparing, and interacting as he learns, has been so fun and invaluable. My favorite part by far is when something clicks and his excitement just bursts.

I’m so thankful for this opportunity and that I get to be his mama too. He’s worked hard, and shown me how much he’s capable of.

Anyways, now that we are on break, the kids and I put together our 2025 summer bucket list! I’ve loved their imaginations as they come up with new and fun ideas. Some of them have included things such as, having a (decaf) cup of coffee, going fishing, learning how to chop wood, make popsicles, grow our garden, try a new food, etc.

I’ve attached here a copy of it for you to print out and do with your family!

• There’s so many great ideas on Pinterest and in asking other friends!

We are looking forward to all the thrilling things summer has in store!

Xoxo,

Shantel R.
