Fashion Friday – Stripe Sweater

Fashion Friday!

For a lot of us, Fridays are the start of the weekend. That last day of work, heading straight into whatever fun plans you have going on gets everyone into a good mood! For me, I always love a good Friday outfit, whether you work, or it’s your errands day, or just simply doing stuff at home, having the right outfit to confidently stroll into your weekend is pretty important.

Now, for me, the key here to every spot on outfit is the “centerpiece”. This is the piece that’s the focal point to your ensemble. No matter what your style, this is the foundation on making it work, compliment, and stand out. The other thing about these outfits is that not everyone will have these specific pieces in their closet, so by using the idea and using the same color tones and structure, you can use what pieces you have, and this will still give you the same outcome.

With this in mind let’s get into our first outfit!

I am a winter girl! I love snow, fireplaces, extra hot coffee, and a comfy sweater.
So for my outfit, the “centerpiece” is the sweater. Every closet needs a striped sweater for the winter, and the good thing about one is that they are pretty easy to find and not usually overpriced. My favorite part about a striped sweater is that it’s not only warm, but very versatile, and not too busy so it can be worn with other color pieces and even patterns.

While my sweater is blue stripes, I wanted to add a darker undertone to accent the white stripes. So I paired this black statement necklace with these dark blue wash skinny jeans and these black short booties.  I accessorized with simple drop earrings and a white watch to complete the look. So, in essence the sweater holds the outfit together while the other articles compliment it. And just like that wallah, Friday here I come!
