Okay so for this Fashion Friday I wanna talk about Button-down shirts!
When it comes to a button-down shirt and jeans I’m a “yes all the way” kinda gal’. I love how classy a button-down can be when dressed up and how casual and comfy it is when worn loose and fun. A button down is so unique. Whether it’s a plaid, pattern and polka dots, or a solid color, it can be worn so many ways. It’s the shirt that during the day can be worn with dress pants, and in the evening with jeans and still, look so good. I love that they can be worn every season of the year and that they are a fun layering piece too. My favorite way to wear them is with white or blue jeans. I love rolling up the sleeves for the summer and layering with a sweater in the winter. Wearing a neutral belt too adds a fun touch. And one thing that for me really defines a button-down is a statement necklace. The collar and necklace compliment each other so well!
This is the type of shirt that you can find almost everywhere. And yes, most of us have one of these somewhere in our closet! However, if you don’t, my all time favorite place to find them are a second-hand store. You can always find a cute one there and often more choices than going to a retail store. But one of my other favorite places to find them is at Kohls. “SO” brand usually has a uniquely wide variety there as well. There are so many possibilities for this classy shirt. I encourage you to try one if you haven’t, and hopefully have inspired you who do, to try them in an exciting new way!
So for my example, I used a pair of white and dark wash jeans with 3 different button-downs.
The first one is a hunter green dressy button-down with jewel buttons.
The second, a white/blue button-down.
And the third one is a striped maroon button-down.
